New Delhi: State-owned Engineers India Limited (EIL) on Thursday said that its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Atul Gupta, has been entrusted with the additional charge of the post of Director (Commercial) for a period of three months, effective from June 30.

The company informed the stock exchanges that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), through a communication dated July 2, conveyed the approval of the competent authority for entrusting the additional responsibility to Gupta.

As per the order, Gupta will hold the additional charge for three months from June 30, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Gupta is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, with over three decades of experience in executing complex engineering and infrastructure projects across domestic and international markets. Before assuming charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Engineers India Limited (EIL), he served as Director (Commercial), where he headed the company's business development and supply chain management functions.

During his tenure as Director (Commercial), Gupta played a key role in strengthening EIL's order book, expanding its international footprint and consolidating its position in the domestic market. He also led initiatives to diversify the company's business into infrastructure and other emerging sectors while promoting sustainable and technology-driven solutions. His contributions have supported the Government of India's Make in India initiative by advancing indigenisation and self-reliance across EIL's operations.
