
New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has announced the appointment of Esha Srivastava (IFS) as Government Nominee Director on its Board with effect from June 20. She is a 2004-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and currently serves as Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). This information has been shared by the oil Maharatna in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.
The appointment was made as per the directive of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas vide letter dated June 19. Indian Oil has confirmed that Srivastava is not related to any other director on the Board and is not debarred from holding office by any regulatory authority.
An accomplished diplomat, Srivastava is an alumna of Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, and holds an M.Phil. in Political Science from Delhi University, where she was a gold medallist.
She has held several key diplomatic and administrative positions during her career, including Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Thimphu, and postings in Paris, Colombo, and at the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO. She has also worked with the Ministry of External Affairs in various capacities.
Srivastava currently serves as a Nominee Director on the boards of ONGC Videsh Ltd. and Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd. She has previously held board-level positions in GAIL (India) Ltd., Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., and Bharat Petro Resources Ltd.
