M Sridhar assumes charge as Director (HR) of BHEL

New Delhi: M Sridhar has assumed charge as Director (Human Resources) on the board of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the state-owned engineering and manufacturing company.

Sridhar, 57, was previously serving as Executive Director (Human Resources) at BHEL's corporate office in New Delhi, where he headed the corporate HR function and led key human resource policies and strategic people initiatives across the organisation.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate from CBIT, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Sridhar holds an MTech in CAD/CAM from JNTU, Hyderabad, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDM) from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He joined BHEL as an Engineer Trainee in 1990 and brings over 36 years of experience across manufacturing, commercial operations, project execution, industrial relations, human resource management and corporate policy.

During his career at BHEL, Sridhar has held several leadership positions at the company's Hyderabad unit and corporate office. His responsibilities have included manufacturing operations for steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, as well as contracts management, commercial operations, marketing, productivity and management services, planning and development, erection and construction, central dispatch and industrial relations.

He also served as General Manager and Head of Corporate Human Resources before being elevated to Executive Director (HR).

At the corporate office, Sridhar played a key role in formulating and implementing HR policies, strengthening performance management systems and driving strategic initiatives aligned with BHEL's organisational objectives. His experience across manufacturing, commercial operations and human resource management has given him a broad understanding of business operations and workforce management.
