

New Delhi: Paresh R Ranpara is set to be next Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Director (Human Resources) of Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India).

Ranpara has been recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection panel meeting held on May 12. The candidates interviewed included senior executives from NHPC Limited, NTPC Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, NHDC Limited and other central public sector enterprises.
A seasoned HR professional with over 28 years of experience in state-owned power sector companies in Gujarat, Ranpara has extensive expertise in human resource management, organisational restructuring, manpower planning and leadership development. Prior to joining the power sector, he also worked in the private sector.
Ranpara holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sardar Patel University. He is also a certified assessor from XLRI Xavier School of Management.
Before joining Grid-India, he served as HR Head at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), where he was responsible for HR policy formulation for group companies employing over 60,000 personnel. He played a key role in the unbundling process of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) and led communication initiatives to ensure a smooth transition.

Ranpara has also contributed significantly in designing performance management systems, succession planning frameworks, leadership development programmes and HR initiatives aimed at fostering innovation, creativity and reskilling in line with the growing penetration of renewable energy in the power sector.
