
New Delhi: Harish Duhan is set to be the next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) Panel on Saturday. Presently, he is working as Director (Technical) in Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), another subsidiary of CIL.
Duhan has been recommended for the post from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB Panel in its Meeting No 96/2024 held on December 7. Out of 11 candidates, two candidates were from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), two from Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) and one each from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), NCL India Limited, NMDC Limited, Indian Railways and Munitions India Limited.
Dohan has rich experience of more than 34 years in the mining sector which includes experience in implementation of First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects, digitisation and development of solar projects in coal India.
Dihan holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining from Nagpur University. He also holds a First Class Mine Manager Certificate and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. He joined Coal India in the year 1989 from Western Coalfields Limited (WCL).
Duhan has also served as Area General Manager of Nigahi Project and General Manager of Corporate Project Planning Department of Northern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India. SECL top management and officers and employees have congratulated Shri Duhan on being selected for the post of CMD of SECL.
