
New Delhi: The Ministry of Power has extended the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance) at SJVN Limited to Rajendra Prasad Goyal, who is also the Director (Finance) and Chairman & Managing Director (Addl. Charge) of NHPC Limited. The extension is effective from July 1, for a period of two months or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
This information has been shared by SJVN Limited in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.
Following this directive, the additional charge of Director (Finance), which had been entrusted to THDC India Limited's Director (Finance) Sipan Kumar Garg, with effect from July 1, stands withdrawn as per the Ministry's superseding order.
Goyal, a seasoned finance professional, has been serving as Director (Finance) of NHPC Limited since October 1, 2020, and holds the additional responsibilities of CMD at NHPC. A member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and a postgraduate in Commerce from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, he began his career with NHPC in 1988 as a Senior Accountant at the Salal Power Station in Jammu & Kashmir.
Over his 34-year career at NHPC, Goyal has served in key roles across various project locations including Chamera-I, Dulhasti, Jammu, and Faridabad. Prior to his elevation as Director (Finance), he was the Chief General Manager (Finance), handling Corporate Accounts, Taxation, Treasury, Establishment, and Investor Relations.
Apart from NHPC, Goyal chairs the Boards of Jalpower Corporation Limited, NHPC Renewable Energy Limited, and Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited. He also serves as Nominee Director on the Boards of Chenab Valley Power Projects Ltd, Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd, Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd, and NHDC Ltd. Additionally, he holds directorships in SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company and SJVN Lower Arun Power Development Company.
Goyal is widely recognised for his leadership, financial acumen, and commitment to the power sector’s growth.
