
New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) on Friday announced that Saumitra P Srivastava has taken over as Director (Marketing) of the company. Prior to his new appointment, he was serving as the Executive Director (Corporate Strategy) in the company, where he focused on strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and bring greater efficiency to overall operations
Srivastava has over three decades of extensive experience in downstream operations, marketing, and strategic leadership within the company.
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering, and SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, from where he completed his Executive MBA, Srivastava has played a pivotal role in shaping Indian Oil’s marketing strategies and operations over the years.
He began his career with Indian Oil in the LPG business and went on to hold diverse positions in sales and marketing across geographies. His leadership track record includes spearheading major transformation projects such as the non-fuel convenience stores initiative and the Dhruva retail transformation project. He has also led key digitalisation and technology-driven initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Srivastava has held several leadership roles across Indian Oil’s operations, including serving as Head of Retail Transformation Group, Retail Business Head for North & East India, and as Head of State for Maharashtra & Goa. He also headed divisional offices in New Delhi and Mumbai and managed sales operations in Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
At his previous role, he was responsible for driving strategic initiatives to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
In his new role as Director (Marketing), Srivastava will lead Indian Oil’s extensive marketing network and infrastructure, steering its strategic direction to ensure continued market leadership. His vision focuses on creating a more agile, efficient, and technologically advanced marketing ecosystem, while advancing Indian Oil’s commitment to customer-centricity and supporting the transition towards sustainable and future-ready fuels.
