Subhankar Sen appointed as Director (Marketing) of BPCL

New Delhi: Subhankar Sen has been appointed as Director (Marketing) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment of Monday.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on July 12, Sen has been appointed as Director (Marketing) of BPCL with effect from the date of his assumption of the charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. December 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

With an illustrious career spanning over 38 years at BPCL, Sen currently serves as Executive Director (Marketing). A seasoned professional in the oil & gas sector, he has held several strategic leadership positions across retail, lubricants, and marketing domains.

Prior to his current role, he served as Executive Director & Business Head – Lubricants and Executive Director & Head Retail (West), playing a pivotal role in driving business development, marketing strategy, and retail transformation. His earlier assignments include key roles such as Chief General Manager – Retail Initiatives and Brand, State Head – Maharashtra & Goa, and State Sales Head – Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh.

Starting his career in 1986 as a Personnel Officer in Kolkata, he steadily rose through the ranks, contributing significantly to BPCL’s retail and marketing growth, brand building, and strategic initiatives. With deep expertise in business strategy, team management, and market expansion, he is known for his strong leadership and results-oriented approach.
