New Delhi: Two-day CSR Conference 2023 (From April 25 to April 26) ended at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) with a positive note that best practices of CSR carried out across Coal India Limited (CIL), CCL and other subsidiaries would be implemented with same zeal and enthusiasm across the companies.
The CSR Conference 2023 was organised by CCL under the aegis of CIL. The theme of the conference was “Re-Engineering CSR.”
Ministry of Coal’s Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor Nirupama Kotru in her address during the brain-storming session, motivated the young executives of CIL and other subsidiaries, stating that no work is small in CSR and its objective is to benefit the needy and underprivileged. She further pointed out that CIL and its subsidiaries are doing many impactful CSR initiatives.
While speaking on the occasion, CCL’s Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) PM Prasad said that this CSR Conference will yield tangible results and best practices of CSR may be adopted in the large interest of the society.
CCL’s Director (Personnel) Harsh Nath Mishra in his address stated that the conference provided an opportunity for the participants working in different subsidiaries of CIL to come together and deliberate on the topic and share their best practices. He further stated that Coal India and its subsidiary companies are committed to the holistic development of stakeholders.
An exhibition where the CIL and its subsidiaries showcased their CSR initiatives was also organised at CCL Headquarters. CCL along with Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) jointly won the first prize for the best stall, while Eastern Coalfields Limited stood second. A brainstorming session amongst the participants was also organized on the occasion where deliberations were held on various facets of CSR and two groups were awarded first and second prize.
CCL’s Director (P&P) B Sairam, CIL’s Independent Director Dr Arun Oraon, CCL’s Independent Director Ramesh Soni, BCCL’s Director (Personnel) Murli Krishna Ramaiah, Dr Satish B. Agnihotri, Retired, IAS, Emeritus Professor, IIT, Mumbai; Dr Kamashi Raman, Executive Director of IICM; Senior Police Officer RK Mallick and others graced the occasion. On the first day of the conference, Dr Bhaskar Chatterjee, Sonam Wangchuk, Dr Parul Rishi and other prominent speakers delivered their speech.
A vote of thanks was delivered by GM (SD&CSR) B. Ladi, who appreciated the participants for attending the two-day-long conference.
