HSL Recruitment 2023: The Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence has notified a job vacancy for the hiring Director (Shipbuilding) for Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before November 10, 2023. The Director (Shipbuilding) post in HSL is set to fall vacant on June 1, 2024.
Director (Shipbuilding) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director. The person selected for the job is required to carry out short- and long-term planning, matching the future production prospects, achieving the targeted growth and profitability of the company. They are also expected to plan, direct and coordinate all the production and allied activities of the warship and merchant shipbuilding of the company.
Pay scale: Rs 1,60,000 – Rs 2,90,000 (IDA)
Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 40 years and the age of superannuation is 60 years
The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of vacancy.
Educational Qualifications
The applicant should be an Engineering graduate preferably in Mechanical or Marine or Production Engineering or Naval Architecture discipline with a good academic record from a recognised university or institution. Post Graduate qualifications in aforementioned/related disciplines will have an added advantage.
Work Experience
The applicant should have at least five years' experience during the last ten years at a senior level in an organisation of repute in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture or Production, Planning & Control in a large-scale integrated production unit dealing with turnkey heavy fabrication projects, of which at least two years should have been in Ship Building activity.
Duration of the appointment
The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
