New Delhi: Raman Chadha has taken over as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GAIL Gas Limited on Thursday. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as Executive Director heading the Project Development function in parent company GAIL (India) Limited. He has taken over the charge from MV Ravi Someswarudu, who was serving on the post since July 1, 2020.
Chadha has a Master's degree in electronics engineering along with MBA in International Marketing specialization. He has a rich and diverse experience encompassing more than 36 years in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors covering diverse functions like project development, operations and maintenance, engineering management, cross country natural gas transportation, compressors & gas turbine operations and city gas distribution (CGD). He has also led the de-bottlenecking projects and commissioning of new units and turnarounds.
In his earlier roles, he has been serving as Managing Director of Joint Ventures – APGDC Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corporation (A JV of GAIL Gas Limited & Government of Andhra Pradesh entities), Green Gas Ltd (A JV of GAIL (India) Limited & IOCL).
He has also served in exploration & production and was Chief Operating Officer of GAIL Gas Limited from the year 2012 to 2014. In his last assignment, he was leading the Project Development team working on the 500 Kta PDH Project being set up at Usar and multiple cross country pipelines. He was also the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) in GAIL (India) Limited.
GAIL Gas Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GAIL (India) Limited. The company is engaged in the city gas distribution business. It was incorporated in May 2008 for the smooth implementation of City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects.
