Shyama Singh appointed as an Independent Director on BEL Board

New Delhi: Shyama Singh has been appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU under the Ministry of Defence. The Board of Directors of BEL have appointed her on the Board of the company with effect from February 2, 2022, vide its circular resolution passed on February 8, 2022. This information has been shared by the Navratna Defence PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Tuesday.

Singh, aged 55 years, holds a degree of BA Hons (Political Science), MA (Political Science), LLB and Master of Philosophy and has a rich experience of around 26 years as an Advocate in Gaya Civil Court. She possesses good knowledge in law and Political Science. She was Gaya District Board Member and Planning Committee Member from 2001 to 2005.

BEL is a Navratna Defence PSU under the administrative control of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. BEL has core competencies in the Defence sector in areas of Radars & Weapon Systems, Sonars, Communication, EWS, Electro-Optics and Tank Electronics. In the non-defence sector, BEL's product range includes EVMs, Tablet PCs, ICs, Hybrid Microcircuits, Semiconductor devices, solar cells etc.
