In an order issued on October 06, the ACC has appointed Madhya Pradesh Cadre officer Dr Pallavi Jain Govil (IAS) as the new DGH

New Delhi: Dr Pallavi Jain Govil, a 1994-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh Cadre is the new DGH. She is currently holding Principal Secretary, Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Primary function of the DG, Hydrocarbons (DGH) is to advise Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on Exploration Strategies & Production Policies among host of others.

DGH is also a nodal agency for implementation of government's ambitious NELP and CBM policy.

Education

Dr Pallavi Jain Govilhas done her double Master’s Degrees, one in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi and the second one in Public Policy Analysis from Princeton University, New Jersey, USA. She also did her Ph.D. in Economics from City University of New York Graduate Center, New York, USA. SHe has done considerable work in mainstreaming of tribal and SC communities in Madhya Pradesh in her present capacity as Principal Secretary.

Earlier work

Earlier she has also worked as Principal Secretary, Public Health and Famili Welfare department in Madhya Pradesh in 2019-20. Between August 2016 and 2019, she held responsibility of Health Commissioner and Controller FDA.
