ACC appoints Rakesh Aggarwal as Director General of NIA

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rakesh Aggarwal (IPS) as Director General of NIA

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rakesh Aggarwal, IPS (Himachal Pradesh: 1994), as Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Aggarwal, who is currently serving as Special Director General, NIA, will assume charge as DG, NIA. His tenure will be effective from the date of assumption of charge until August 31, 2028, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment has been approved following a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
