New Delhi: IPS officer Mandeep Singh Randhawa has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways. According to an order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Randhawa has been selected for appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways," the order added.

Randhawa is a 2006-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre. He is currently serving as Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Delhi. He was recommended for the Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
