Nirmod Kumar (IRSSE) appointed as Director in MeitY

New Delhi: Nirmod Kumar (IRSSE) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). He was recommended for the central deputation by the Ministry of Railways. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been selected for the appointment under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Mb Electronics and Information Technology," the order added.

Kumar is an Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer of the 2006-batch. He is an Engineering Graduate (BE in Electronics and Communications) from the Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology. He is serving in Indian Railways since December 2006.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is an executive agency of the government. It was carved out of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on July 16, 2016, as a standalone ministerial agency responsible for IT policy, strategy and development of the electronics industry. Currently, Ravi Shankar Prasad is Union Minister for MeitY.
