Ritu Sain (IAS) appointed as Director in Department of School Education & Literacy

New Delhi: The central government has approved the appointment of Ritu Sain (IAS) as Director in the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education on Wednesday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been appointed to the post on a 'lateral shift' basis with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post for a period up to March 25, 2024, i.e. a combined tenure of five years under the central staffing scheme or until further orders, whichever is earlier. She is currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Profile of Ritu Sain (IAS)

Sain is a 2003-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre. She is currently serving as Director in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). She is an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi from where she pursued her M. Phil in South East Asian Studies. She is also an LLB. Prior to her appointment in MoHUA, she was posted as Secretary in the government of Chhattisgarh. She was also the Collector of the districts of Koriya and Surguja. She also has held as the Managing Director of Handicrafts Development Corporation, Chhattisgarh and Industrial Area Development of the state.

Ritu sain had also been featured in the 2019 list of Top 50 Bureaucrats Surveyed By Fame India, Asia Post & PSU Watch.
