Swagat Das (IPS) appointed as Special Secretary in Ministry of Home Affairs

New Delhi: Swagat Das (IPS) has been appointed as Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the appointment of Swagat Das as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has been appointed to the post in place of VSK Kaumudi (IPS) for a period with effect from the date of joining the post and up to November 30, 2024, i.e. the date of his superannuation or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Das is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1987-batch. Presently, he is working as Special Director in Intelligence Bureau (IB).
