L&T bags contract for desalination plant from GIDC

While the company did not provide the value for the contracts, the orders range between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore as per the classification of contracts

New Delhi: Infrastructure company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said on Wednesday that its construction arm has bagged a contract for desalination plant from Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).

"The water and effluent treatment business of L&T Construction and Tecton Engineering and Construction LLC, UAE JV have secured a prestigious contract for a 100 MLD desalination plant from Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Gujarat, India," the company said in a regulatory filing.

Orders worth between Rs 1,000-2,500 crores

While the company did not provide the value for the contracts, it said that the order fell within "significant" category, meaning they range between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore as per the classification of contracts.

L&T Construction will be the lead in this project, the company added. Under the contract, the company will operate and maintain the plant for a period of 10 years, post-completion.

Shares of L&T were 0.26 percent higher at Rs 1,465.25 apiece on BSE on Wednesday.
