Dr Nikhil Agarwal appointed as Independent Director on HAL Board

HAL announced the appointed Dr Nikhil Agarwal as a Part-Time Non-Official (Independent) Director on its Board for a period of three years

New Delhi: Board of Directors of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have approved the appointed Dr Nikhil Agarwal as an Additional Director designated as a Part-Time Non-Official (Independent) Director on its Board for a period of three years.

According to a regulatory filing to the stock exchnages, Agarwal's tenure will be effective from September 9, 2026, for three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to approval by the company's shareholders at a General Meeting.

Agarwal is an innovation, startup and policy expert. He holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.

He is currently Managing Director of the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi, which works to bridge academia and industry, facilitate technology transfer, support startups, and promote research commercialisation and industry partnerships.

He is also the founder of Entrepreneur Café, a global entrepreneurship movement operating across 110 cities and six continents, with a network of more than 45,000 entrepreneurs. Over the past 20 years, Agarwal has founded businesses and advised companies on strategic matters. His professional experience includes working with global multinational companies such as Cadbury's, FIC and Zensar (RPG Group).
