MDL launches 4 IT-based applications for employees’ benefit

As part of the government's flagship initiative of Digital India, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has commissioned four Information Tech-based applications for employee benefit

New Delhi: As part of the government of India's flagship initiative of Digital India, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has commissioned four Information Technology based applications for its employees' benefit. The applications jointly developed by Human Resource, Finance & CIT team were launched on Monday by MDL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) VAdm Narayan Prasad, AVSM, NM, IN (Retd) in presence of Directors, CVO and MDL employees at Sagarika Auditorium.

MDL's CMD, while addressing the gathering said that these applications shall enable employees to access these processes digitally. The process is a green initiative aimed at reducing the use of paper thereby the carbon footprint of MDL.  The online system is simple and user-friendly and this will make the process hassle-free for employees. 

CMD reiterated that the launch of these initiatives seeks to realize the goal of inclusive development by adapting to technology. This will further consolidate MDL's initiative of digital transformation and MDL's commitment to participating with the government's flagship initiative of Digital India. 

The four applications namely Employee Portal on MDL Website, E-Library, HR Query Handling and Annual Property Return are for the benefit of the employees. Employees would now access their personal data and documents like Pay Slip, PF Slip, Contributory Pension details, Leave balance, Procedures/Manuals and Recent Circulars digitally from anywhere and any device like desktop, laptop, mobile, tablet etc. Employees will get access to knowledge material through the portal.

These applications will reduce the footfall of employees in the HR department on a regular basis which will not only help in managing the crowd in this COVID situation but also enhance the engagement time of employees in their work.
