CIL bags PSU Award for best ‘Strategic Performance’

Coal India Limited (CIL) has bagged Governance Now PSU Award for best ’Strategic Performance’ in the ‘Maharatna' category

New Delhi: Coal India Limited (CIL), a state-run Maharatna Coal PSU under the Ministry of Coal, has been conferred with the "Governance Now PSU Award" in the 7th Governance Now awards function held in New Delhi on February 19.

CIL received "PSU Award" for best 'Strategic Performance' in the 'Maharatna' category, the company said in a statement. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal presented the award to Coal India's General Manager GS Bhati, who received the award on behalf of CIL. On the occasion, Shailesh Lodha (An actor and writer, famously known as Taarak Mehta) was also present as the special guest.

Coal India Limited (CIL) is a Maharatana PSU under the Ministry of Coal and has its headquarters in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is the largest coal-producing company in the world. The company contributes to around 82 percent of the coal production in India. It has seven subsidiary companies.
