New Delhi: Indian Bank organised a pledge-taking ceremony at its corporate office in Chennai as part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, being conducted from June 17 to June 26 under the aegis of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about substance abuse and promote a drug-free society across the country.

The pledge ceremony was led by the bank's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Binod Kumar. Executive Directors Ashutosh Choudhury and Shiv Bajrang Singh also participated in the event. Chief General Managers, General Managers and other senior officials of the bank took the pledge to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
During the programme, participants reiterated their commitment to supporting efforts aimed at building a healthier and addiction-free society.

As part of the awareness drive, employees of the bank were sensitised to the adverse effects of drug abuse and encouraged to contribute to the national objective of creating a drug-free society. Employees were also encouraged to register for the Nasha Mukti Pledge through the designated portal.
The bank said awareness banners carrying messages promoting a drug-free lifestyle were displayed at prominent locations in and around the office premises.
