NMDC Vigilance week: Improving organisational integrity

Hyderabad: On the occasion of vigilance week, 'Vigilance Awareness programme' has been inaugurated at NMDC Limited's corporate headquarters in Hyderabad. NMDC's Director (Personnel) Sumit Deb administrated the pledge to the employees in presence of Chief Guest, APVN Sarma, IAS (Retd), advisor to the governor. NMDC's Executive Director (Engg. & Projects) S Surender and other senior officials participated in this event.

Sarma emphasised the need for adhering to procedures and revision of same periodically considering practical business realities. He shared his personal experiences in various capacities on how win-win solutions can be implemented with the revision of policies in addition to preventing malpractices. He underlined the need to consider the antecedents of the employee while deciding the quantum of punishments.

NMDC's Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) VVS Sreenivas explained the relevance of theme "Integrity – a way of life" and the role of employees in improving organisational integrity. He also stated that over the past few years the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is laying greater emphasis on preventive vigilance and participation of citizens from all sections of society in the fight against corruption.

Sreenivas further informed that in line with the vision of Commission: Painting, elocution and essay writing competitions conducted in several schools and colleges in city and projects located in Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Formation of CVC logo with a human chain in schools/colleges is an innovative activity taken up to catch the imagination of youngsters.
