New Delhi/Bilaspur: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organised a knowledge-sharing session on “Public Procurement: Framework, Process & Integrity Safeguards” at NTPC Sipat in Bilaspur as part of its three-month campaign on preventive vigilance.

The session was conducted on September 26 by Himanshu Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), SECL, who highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability and integrity in public procurement.

Jain discussed various aspects of public procurement, including procurement frameworks, the stage-wise procurement lifecycle, selection methods, policy provisions, contract management and vigilance safeguards.

He also emphasised systematic planning, adherence to procurement guidelines, adoption of digital procurement practices and strengthening preventive mechanisms to ensure fair, efficient and value-driven procurement.

The session was attended by senior officials of NTPC Sipat and SECL, including Vijay Shankar Dubey, Chief General Manager (Head of Project), NTPC Sipat; Surojit Sinha, GM (O&M); Ashok Sarkar, GM (Operation & FM); Lingam Venkat Reddy, GM (Maintenance Department); Dr Bankim Samaddar, GM (Project Construction); Sanjay Prasad Dubey, GM (Vigilance), SECL; Kundan Rathore, AGM (Vigilance); and Praveen Ranjan Bharti, Senior Manager (HR/PR/OL), along with officials from various departments of NTPC Sipat.

SECL said such knowledge-sharing initiatives are aimed at increasing awareness, strengthening ethical practices and promoting transparency, integrity and accountability in public procurement.
