New Delhi: A software glitch at state-run Air India that grounded around 149 flights on April 27 and 137 flights on April 28, delayed at least 29 flights by over an hour on Monday as well. Air India had said that the glitch had been fixed

On April 27, the glitch experienced by the check-in software had been fixed on the same day, the airline had said. Yet, it continued to affect the airline's operations for a third day on Monday. According to an airline spokesperson, out of the 352 flights that were on the schedule for Monday, 29 were delayed due to the system glitch that happened on April 27. The flights were delayed by more than 60 minutes, the spokesperson said.

What does the software do?

The software is called Passenger Service System (PSS) and it takes care of check-in, baggage and reservation. It had shut down for five hours on April 27. The software is owned and managed by Atlanta-based SITA.
