Alok Verma recommended to be the new Director (HR), HAL

New Delhi: Alok Verma is set to be new Director (Human Resources) in Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence. Verma's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as General Manager (HR) in the same organisation.

Verma has been selected from the list of seven candidates who were interviewed in the selection meeting. A total of three candidates who were on the list were from HAL and others were from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Indian Telecommunication Service.

Verma joined HAL as General Manager (HR) at the Aircraft Manufacturing Division, Nasik (MH) in June 2006.

Later he was moved to Avionics Division, Hyderabad in June 2012. He was appointed there as Additional General Manager (HR) in July 2014. Verma joined HAL's corporate office Bangalore as General Manager (HR) in July 2017. Prior to joining HAL, he has also served several positions in National Fertilizer Limited.

Verma holds a post-graduate diploma in Computer Applications from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. He has completed Bachelor's in law from Jiwaji University, Madhya Pradesh and Master in Art from Patna University.

HAL is an Indian state-owned aerospace and defence company and it has its headquarter in Bangalore. It is governed under the management of the Indian Ministry of Defence. The corporation is primarily involved in the operations of the aerospace and is currently involved in the design, fabrication and assembly of aircraft, jet engines, helicopters and their spare parts.
