Ranchi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary company of Coal India Limited, has earmarked 180 beds at its Central Hospitals in Ramgarh, Dhori and Dakra in Jharkhand to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19). CCL has created a 10-bedded isolation ward at a Jan Arogya Kendra and an ICU with the ventilator. Doctors and paramedics are available round-the-clock and are making all efforts to combat Coronavirus (COVID-19), CCL said in a tweet on Wednesday.
In addition to this, Central Coalfields has started a CORONA control room at its Central Hospital in Ranchi with videoconferencing facilities for better coordination of operations.
To contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), CCL has also distributed 1,420 litres of hand sanitizer and 21,300 masks to its employees and people living in and around its mines.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has reported more than 5,300 COVID-19 positive cases and 149 deaths, since the outbreak.
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. The company was incorporated in 1956 under the Indian Companies Act 1956 with an objective to manage the nationalised mines and take over the central division of Coal Mines Authority. Its registered and corporate offices are in Ranchi, Jharkhand. The company employs 39,211 regular employees [including 2,350 executives and 36,861 non-executives] as on March 31, 2019.
