Hemanta Kr Deka set to be Director (Technical) of NEEPCO

New Delhi: Hemanta Kumar Deka is set to be Director (Technical) of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Limited, a state-run Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power. Deka's name has been recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. He is currently serving as Executive Director in the same Power PSU. With this promotion, Deka will succeed Vinod Kumar Singh, who is currently serving the organisation.

Deka has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of NEEPCO from the list of six candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. A total of four candidates including Deka, who were on the list were from NEEPCO and others were from NHPC Limited and MECON Limited.

North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) is a schedule-A 'Miniratna' category-1 Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) owned by the government under the Ministry of Power, formed on April 2, 1976, to plan, investigate, design, construct, generate, operate and maintain power stations in the North Eastern Region of the country.

The company has 60% of the total installed capacity of the Northeast region, which is 1757 MW.
