MoCA Additional Secretary Arun Kumar is now DGCA chief

The bureaucrat has previously held additional charge of the DGCA between May 31 and July 9 this year

New Delhi: Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Arun Kumar has been given full-time charge as the head of aviation regulator DGCA, an official order said on Tuesday. "The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Arun Kumar, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation as Director General in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary," said the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training. Kumar has previously held additional charge of the DGCA between May 31 and July 9 this year.

Arun Kumar is an IAS officer of 1989 batch of Haryana cadre. Before Kumar, BS Bhullar was serving as DGCA's chief. Bhullar had taken charge of the post in December 2016.
