Himachal Pradesh/New Delhi: NHPC Limited, India's premier hydropower company and a 'Mini Ratna' Category-I PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, has commissioned the Unit no 2 (60 MW) of its 180 MW (3 x 60 MW) 'Baira Siul Power Station' located in Himachal Pradesh.
Unit no 2 has been tested and commissioned after completion of Renovation and Modernization works. The commercial operation of the Unit no 2 of the Baira Siul Power Station will start from 00.00 Hrs of 29th December 2019.
NHPC Limited is an Indian Hydropower generation PSU under the administrative control of Ministry of Power. Earlier it was known as National Hydroelectric Power Corporation. The company was incorporated in the year 1975 with an authorised capital of Rs 2,000 million and with an objective to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects.
