Balmer Lawrie announces appointments of two Directors on its board

Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. has announced the appointment Saurav Dutta and Abhijit Ghosh as Director Director (Finance) and Director (HR & Corporate Affairs) respectively on its board

New Delhi: Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd., a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has announced important leadership changes at the board level. According to company, two new Directors have been inducted to the roles of the company.

Saurav Dutta as Director (Finace)

Saurav Dutta has taken over as Director (Finance) and Chief Financial Officer with effect from January 31, 2023. Dutta will be overseeing the Finance and IT functions of the company. Prior to assuming charge as Director, Dutta was heading the corporate accounts & finance including taxation.

Abhijit Ghosh as Director (HR & Corporate Affairs) 

Abhijit Ghosh has taken over as Director (HR & Corporate Affairs) with effect from February 1, 2023 and will be overseeing the HR and Corporate Affairs functions. Prior to his appointment as Director (HR&CA), he was leading the HR function of the company as Sr. Vice President (HR) since December 2019.

Profile of Saurav Dutta

Saurav Dutta, a qualified chartered accountant and company secretary, joined Balmer Lawrie on June 16, 1997. Prior to taking over as Director, he was holding the position of Vice President (Finance). A seasoned professional with nearly 30 years of experience, he has worked in core business areas in both manufacturing and services, corporate finance and taxation function and headed the finance function of a Joint venture during his tenure at Balmer Lawrie.

Abhijit Ghosh

Abhijit Ghosh has over 30 years of professional experience in four Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) of repute. Ghosh is a seasoned professional who has worked in various HR roles spanning employee relations, talent management, organisation change & development, learning & development, HR operations, performance management, employee engagement etc. Prior to his appointment as Director (HR & CA), he was leading the HR function of the company as Sr Vice President (HR) since December 2019. He has been holding leadership positions in the HR function in other PSUs viz. National Fertilisers Limited, West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited and Hindustan Copper Limited. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi. Ghosh has also pursued Master of Business Administration from Calcutta University and PGCHRM from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
