Dr Uday Sakharam Nirgudkar appointed as Independent Director of NHPC

The Board of Directors of NHPC Limited have appointed Dr Uday Sakharam Nirgudkar as an Additional and Independent Director on the Board of NHPC Limited

New Delhi: Dr Uday Sakharam Nirgudkar has been appointed as Independent Director on the Board of NHPC Limited with effect from November 15. As per the instructions received from the Ministry of Power, the Board of Directors of NHPC Limited have appointed Dr Nirgudkar as an Additional and Independent Director on the board of the company. Dr Nirgudkar is not related to any of the directors of the company and is not debarred from holding the office of director by virtue of any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other such authority. This information has been shared by NHPC Limited in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange.

Dr Nirgudkar is an MBA and PhD in Marketing Management awarded by Pune University. He has varied experience of over 28 years in IT, IT-enabled services, Education, Infrastructure, Finance, Media and Economics. Has been in top position in Information technology firms of international repute, representing them around the conducted workshops in Africa and Middle East countries on Management Skills.

Dr Nirgudkar has written features on Technology and Education in various newspapers and magazines and also anchored daily debate shows on current affairs and interview series on weekends of dignitaries from various fields. The show was extremely popular and received many awards including awards for best journalism.
