Jai Prakash Srivastava set to be next Director (ER&D) of BHEL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Jai Prakash Srivastava for the post of Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of BHEL

New Delhi: Jai Prakash Srivastava is set to be the next Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday. At the time of application, Srivastava was serving as General Manager in the same organisation.

Srivastava has been recommended for the post of Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of BHEL from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. Out of 10, six candidates including Srivastava, who were on the list, were from BHEL and one each from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), BEML Limited, NTPC Limited and National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India Limited.

As Director (Engineering, Research & Development) of BHEL, Srivastava will be a member of on Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He will be directly responsible for all technical activities of BHEL including Research & Development both short as well as long term. He will also be responsible for operations and procurement related matters of the company.
