MP Mishra appointed as Director (Projects & Technical) of NALCO

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Manasa Prasad Mishra as Director (Projects & Technical) of NALCO

New Delhi: Manasa Prasad Mishra is new Director (Projects & Technical) of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister has approved the appointment of Mishra as Director (Projects & Technical) of NALCO on October 14. According to a DoPT order, he has been appointed to the post for a period of with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after November 1, till the date of his superannuation i.e. July 31, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently working as Executive Director at the same organisation.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported that Mishra was recommended for the post of Director (Projects & Technical) by a PESB panel on July 13. He was selected from the list of six candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel.

New role & responsibility 

As Director (Projects & Technical) of NALCO, Mishra will be in charge of all projects, expansion schemes, including feasibility studies, techno-economic evaluations, planning and implementation of the projects and capex. He will also be responsible for all the technical and engineering services required for the satisfactory performance of the various units of the company.

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), incorporated in 1981, is a Navratna PSU, having integrated and diversified operations in mining, metal and power under the Ministry of Mines. It is one of the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium-Power complex in the country, encompassing bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, rail and port operations.
