RK Singh visits dam site of NHPC Kishanganga Power Station

New Delhi: Union Power Minister RK Singh visited the dam site of 330 MW NHPC Kishanganga Power Station at Gurez in Bandipora District of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir on October 15. The Minister was accompanied by Ministry of Power Additional Secretary SKG Rahate, NHPC's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) AK Singh and Power Development Department of J&K's Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal, said an official statement.

Upon their arrival at Dawar Helipad, the Union Minister and other dignitaries were welcomed by Dr Owais Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, senior officers of NHPC Kishanganga Power Station and other district administration officials.

The Union Minister and other dignitaries were welcomed by Ashish Kumar Chouksey, General Manager, HoP, NHPC Kishanganga Power Station and other senior officers on their arrival at the dam site, The minister was accorded ceremonial Guard of Honor by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

During his visit, the Union Minister inspected various components of the dam and spillway. He also inspected the construction work of the dam toe powerhouse (0.8 X 3 = 2.4 MW) and was briefed about the progress of the works. During the visit, Singh also interacted with the representatives of the local people.
