The project, titled “Transmission scheme for evacuation of 4.5 GW RE injection at Khavda PS under Phase-II, Part C,” has been completely commissioned with effect from January 31. The Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) for the project was received via email on February 2.

The transmission scheme was secured by POWERGRID Khavda II-C Transmission Limited through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB), with a mandate for implementation of the ISTS project. The commissioning of the project marks a significant step in strengthening the national grid for large-scale integration of renewable energy, particularly from the Khavda renewable energy hub.

With the commencement of commercial operations, the project is expected to facilitate reliable evacuation of up to 4.5 GW of renewable power, supporting India’s clean energy transition and enhancing inter-state power transmission capacity.
