New Delhi: B Veera Reddy is set to be Director (Technical) at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) as his name has been recommended by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) on Wednesday. Reddy is currently serving as General Manager, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), a government-owned coal mining company.

Reddy has been selected from a list of ten candidates. A total of three candidates who were on the list were from ECL, two candidates from NLC India Limited and others were from Western Coalfields Ltd, Central Coalfields Ltd, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd and Sainik Mining & Allied Services Limited.

Reddy has rich experience in planning of underground coal mines for mechanisation, planning of ventilation,  underground water management, spare parts planning for large mechanized underground mines and management of large underground mines.

Reddy has done M.Tech in mining engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has more than 32 years of experience in the coal and mining sector.
