PESB gives MoPNG its ‘reserve name’ for Director (P&BD) of Indian Oil

The PESB has communicated to the Petroleum Ministry its ‘reserve name’ for the post of Director (P&BD) at Indian Oil. Who is it?

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has communicated to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) its ‘reserve name’ for the post of Director (Planning and Business Development) at Indian Oil. According to a letter dated November 27 accessed by PSU Watch, the PESB has told the ministry that Suman Kumar, Executive Director (ED) at Indian Oil, is the ‘reserve name in the panel kept in sealed cover.’ PSU Watch had reported on November 13 that the post of Director (P&BD) has opened up again after Arvindar Singh Sahney, who was earlier chosen by PESB as Indian Oil’s Director (P&BD), was appointed Chairman of the PSU.

“On the directions of ACC, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has requested PESB to disclose the reserve name from its panel dated 20.08.2024 for the post of Director (P&BD), IOCL vide the above OM,” said the PESB in the letter. “The Ministry is requested to see for further necessary action in the matter,” it added. The letter is addressed to Petroleum Secretary Pankaj Jain.

Suman Kumar currently heads the Exploration and Production division at Indian Oil.
