Power Grid’s Sr GM (PR) Naresh Kumar passes away at the age of 52

The Public Relations fraternity has expressed deep grief over the untimely death of Power Grid's Sr General Manager (Public Relations) Naresh Kumar. He was just 52 years old

New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) Senior General Manager (Public Relations) Naresh Kumar is no more. He died of multiple organ failure on November 13, Saturday. Kumar was being treated at Fortis Hospital in Gurugram after he complained of illness on November 10. He was just 52 years old. Kumar had been with Power Grid since February 1993.

Naresh Kumar was a renowned public relations practitioner. The Public Relations fraternity has expressed deep grief & sorrow over the sudden demise of one of the shining stars of the communications industry. 

Recognitions & Awards

Kumar was recently honoured with the ND Rajpal Memorial award for communicator of the decade. The award was given to him by Basavraj Bommai, Minister of Home, Govt of Karnataka in the presence of Justice HN Nagmohan Das, Former High Court justice of Karnataka and Lt. Gen. MKS Yadav VM in a grand ceremony organised in Bengaluru during the 14th global communication conclave organised by Public Relations Council Of India on March 6. Kumar was recently included in the top 100 PR Professionals list by Reputation Today.

Early Life

Naresh Kumar was born on August 31, 1969, in Vikasnagar, Bajnath of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. He completed his graduation and post-graduation from Delhi University. He had also done a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (MBA) Marketing & HR from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's – Usha and Lakshmi Mittal Institute of Management. Kumar had done a Masters in Maas Communications & Journalism from Algappa University, Tamil Nadu.

Kumar also held a PG Diploma in Advertising & Public Relations from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), JNU Campus, New Delhi.
