New Delhi: Vilas Sopna Wadekar is set to be next Director (Technical) of Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director in the same organisation.

Wadekar has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of MRVC from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel. The candidates on the list were one each from Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) and MRVC.

As Director (Technical) of MRVC, Wadekar will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will assist the CMD and will be responsible for project management functions of the company, preparation of detailed project reports, planning and designing, construction and commissioning of the projects, research and development activities, etc.
