New Delhi: Anil Kumar Nayak (IOFS) has been appointed as Part-time Official Director on the Board of Coal India Limited (CIL). Maharatna coal PSU has informed the Ministry of Coal that the board has approved the appointment of Nayak as Part-time Official Director on the Board of the company with immediate effect up to June 30, in place of Yatinder Prasad. Nayak is a 1986 batch Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS). He is currently serving as an Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Coal.

Nayak has done an MA in Politics from the School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi and M Phil in Ethnicity and Political Development in the Ivory Coast from Delhi University. He joined Indian Ordnance Factory Services on February 15, 1987. He was Deputy Director-General of the Ordnance Factory Board, Kolkata looking after Industrial Relations of the entire organisation comprising of 41 Ordnance factories before joining as Chief Labour Commissioner in the Ministry of Labour in August 2015.

Deputy Secretary to 5th Pay Commission, Deputy Secretary in Ministry of Defence, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Gr.-I of Bihar and Odisha, Director in Ministry of Mines etc. He has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines in March 2018. He also has varied experience in technical as well as administrative fields.
