New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for the appointment of Arun Iyer as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Pralhad V Joshi in the Ministry of Coal.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Iyer has been appointed to the post at the level of Director for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

Iyer is currently serving as Additional Private Secretary Union Minister of Coal, Mines & Parliamentary Affairs since June 2019. Prior to this, he was posted as Senior Private Secretary to Chairman of Standing Committee, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Parliament of India.
