D Madhukar Naik (IDES) appointed as PS to Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for the appointment of D Madhukar Naik, IDES (2002) as Private Secretary to the Minister for Minority Affairs (Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi) in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, for a period of three years. According to an order issued on June 19, Naik has been appointed on the post for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post on coterminous with the Minister of till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until the further orders whichever is earlier.

Naik is an Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDES) officer of 2002-batch. He completed his schooling from Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. He did Bachelors of Engineering (B Tech) in Electronics & Communication from National Institute of Technology Warangal in 1993. He has held various positions such as CEO of Cantonment Board Jhansi, Defence Estates Officer in the Ministry of Defence, Chief Executive Officer at Cantonment Board in Dehradun and Personnel Secretary to the Minister, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

As the Defence Estates Officer, he has been associated with major land acquisitions for the Ministry of Defence and with programmes of Rehabilitation for the project affected people. As the CEO of the Cantonment Board the role of Municipal Commissioner of the Cantonment Board.
