

New Delhi: The Cooperative Election Authority (CEA) under the Ministry of Cooperation has invited applications from retired Central Government employees for engagement as consultants on a contractual basis. The recruitment drive aims to fill three vacancies, including one post of Deputy Registrar and two posts of Assistant Registrar, according to an official notification.
Eligible candidates must have retired, or be due to retire shortly, from the Central Government at Level 11 or above for the Deputy Registrar post and Level 10 or above for the Assistant Registrar post. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in handling election-related matters, court cases, cooperative sector issues, establishment work, RTI matters and VIP references. Applicants should also be proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and e-Office, and be capable of independently handling official files and noting-drafting.

The consultants will be engaged in matters related to multi-state cooperative societies, elections, administration and connected activities of the Authority. Candidates with prior experience in cooperative sector matters will be given preference.
The monthly remuneration will be fixed in accordance with the Department of Expenditure's guidelines and calculated as the last basic pay drawn minus the pension. Retired employees who superannuated after January 1, 2025, will receive preference. The initial engagement will be for one year and may be extended based on performance.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications, along with a duly filled bio-data, passport-size photograph and a copy of the Pension Payment Order (PPO) or Pensioner Card, within 15 days of the issuance of the advertisement. Applications can be sent by post or email to the Under Secretary, Cooperative Election Authority, World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi. Candidates who have already applied have also been invited to attend walk-in interviews scheduled for July 20 and 21, 2026, at 11:30 am.
According to the terms and conditions, applicants should not be more than 62 years of age at the time of application and cannot continue as consultants beyond the age of 65 years. The engagement will be purely contractual and will not confer any claim for regular appointment. Consultants will continue to draw their pension and dearness relief during the tenure of the contract and will be entitled only to transport allowance in addition to the fixed remuneration.
