

New Delhi: Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDI) to undertake intensive exploration activities for energy and non-energy minerals, aimed at strengthening India’s resource security and mineral sovereignty.

The MoU has been signed on May 14, at the CMPDI headquarters in Ranchi in the presence of Satish Chandra Dubey, Minister of State for Coal & Mines.
According to the official statement, the agreement marks a significant step towards enhancing the national inventory of coal and critical minerals while supporting the government’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and reducing import dependency.
The two organisations have maintained a longstanding association in the field of mineral exploration and mining development. Under the renewed partnership, MECL will contribute its expertise in drilling technologies, geophysical surveys, laboratory analytical services, resource estimation and consultancy to support exploration and mine development activities.

The collaboration is expected to accelerate the development of new mining projects and strengthen India’s efforts toward self-reliance in the mineral and energy sectors.
The event was attended by Shri Indra Dev Narayan, CMD of Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited; Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, CMD of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited; and Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, CMD of Central Coalfields Limited, along with directors and senior officials from MECL, CMPDI and CCL.
The MoU has been formally signed by the Heads of Department (Business Development) of both organisations.
