
New Delhi: Om Prakash Sinha is set to be next Director (Exploration) of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Head of Institute of Reservoir Studies, Ahmedabad) of ONGC.
He has been recommended for the post by the PESB Panel from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on April 17. Out of 17 candidates, seven candidates were from ONGC, two from Oil India Limited and one each from Pawan Hans Limited, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons and Ongc Videsh Limited.
As Director (Exploration) of ONGC, Sinha will be a member of the Board of Directors of ONGC. He will be responsible for developing and implementing exploration strategies and managing reservoirs. His responsibilities includes ensuring healthy reserve replacement ratios, designing production facilities for new discoveries, managing existing oil and gas reservoirs, and exploring Carbon Capture and Storage options.
