Priyanka Chandra (IDAS) has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Culture

New Delhi: Priyanka Chandra (IDAS) has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Culture. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Priyanka Chandra is an Indian Defence Account Service (IDAS) officer of the 2006 batch. She was recommended for the Central deputation by the Ministry of Defence.

The Ministry of Culture is charged with the preservation and promotion of the art and culture of India. G Kishan Reddy is the current Minister of Culture. The government has recently established the National Mission on Libraries India under this ministry.
