BEL, GoSuraksha Infotech sign MoU to co-develop sovereign digital identity solution

BEL and GoSuraksha Infotech have signed an MoU to collaborate on the co-development of a sovereign Secure Digital Identity solution

New Delhi/Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and GoSuraksha Infotech Private Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the co-development of a sovereign Secure Digital Identity solution.

GoSuraksha Infotech provides tamper-proof trusted identity solutions through its patented technology, which creates an encrypted QR code containing the user's face vector. The solution is offered under the brand name “DigiSuraksha”.

Under the MoU, BEL and GoSuraksha will explore porting the DigiSuraksha application onto computing devices manufactured by BEL and subsequently jointly develop and market the integrated sovereign identity solution to government and public sector customers.

The collaboration will combine BEL's design and manufacturing capabilities across mechanical, electronics and software domains with GoSuraksha's patented identity platform and capabilities in DigiSuraksha identity issuance and verification.

The companies will also leverage their respective strengths in business facilitation and technology innovation. BEL will contribute its manufacturing capabilities and marketing outreach, while GoSuraksha will bring its expertise in strategic government relations, project governance and operational management.

The MoU has been exchanged by BEL Director (Marketing) Anoop Kumar Rai and GoSuraksha Infotech Director Nikhil Kothary. The exchange was witnessed by Lt Cdr (Retd.) Pawan Desai, CEO, Mitkat Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. (MIGS), along with BEL officials Anil Kumar Singh, General Manager–Strategic Planning, Corporate Office; Ruchi Pant, General Manager–Technology Planning, Corporate Office; and Hemavathy Muthuswamy, General Manager–NWCS SBU, BEL Bengaluru Unit.
