Goa Shipyard Limited organises DPSU HR meet

Vasco/Goa: With a view to stay abreast of changing HR policies and processes, Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has taken an initiative to organise two-day-long DPSU HR Meet at "Shipyard Sadan" from November 21 to November 22, involving senior HR heads of eight defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs).

The 'DPSU HR Meet' was graced by NBCC Limited's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Pawan Kumar Gupta, who was the chief guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included GSL's CMD Cmde BB Nagpal, GSL's Director (Finance) TN Sudhakar, GSL's Director (Operations) SJ Kamat and other senior executives from defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs).

NBCC CMD PK Gupta was on a visit to GSL. During his visit, he reviewed the progress of construction work of command & control and design offices that are being executed by his company.

The chief guest and GSL's CMD stressed on the relevance of HR in the current business scenario as an enabling force in driving the enterprises forward. The NBCC CMD and the GSL CMD said that HR has a major role to play by leveraging the use of technology in its various domains so that gaps can be reduced.

The two-day programme touched upon the niche domains of best practices or initiatives at individual defence PSUs, expert talk on artificial intelligence in HR, case studies in HR by Xavier School of Management (XLRI) with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and the issues being faced by individual defence PSUs.
